Welcome to New England Rural Club for Health Alliance (NERCHA)

We are a collective group of allied health, nursing and medical students that are passionate about rural health. We aim to support students with a rural background and foster interest in rural health equity in students from non-rural backgrounds.

NERCHA is the University of New England branch of the National Rural Health Students' Network (NRHSN). We are one of 29 health clubs located around Australia and we encourage you to join the NRHSN at https://www.nrhsn.org.au/.

Our annual events include:

• Rural high school visits to encourage students to consider undertaking health studies
• Rural immersion trip to a small town to engage with the community, tour medical facilities and have fun in the bush
• Indigenous culture events
• Speaker nights
• Sponsorship to rural health conferences
• Bursaries for rural placement
